THE WINDSOR FOUNDATION

THE WINDSOR FOUNDATION

The Windsor Foundation is a private foundation established in 1960 by Mr. Sidney Albert Windsor. During his lifetime, Mr. Windsor owned and operated a commercial canning business in Saint-Jean, Quebec and the assets of the Windsor Canning Company enabled the charitable Mr. Windsor to create a long-term legacy upon his death. Mr. Windsor, who was born and educated in New Brunswick, maintained a lifelong interest in the Maritime Provinces and the people who lived there.

Our Mandate

The Windsor Foundation has two key areas of interest in the Maritime Provinces:

  • Support for programs, projects and initiatives in the general community which provide services to or benefits for the disadvantaged or vulnerable, and for those physically and intellectually challenged.

  • Support for creative higher education programs in universities and community colleges.

Grants are made for programs, projects and initiatives undertaken in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island.
